Mumbai water restrictions: BMC imposes 20 per cent cut for industry, bans new construction connections

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday announced a series of stringent water conservation measures amid declining reservoir levels and a delayed monsoon caused by El Nino conditions.
According to the civic body’s Public Relations Department, the city currently holds only 10.35 per cent water stock in its supplying lakes as of Tuesday, raising concerns over sustained supply to Mumbai and its suburbs.
