IMD predicts thunderstorms, lightning in Mumbai after brief rainfall lull

After a sharp decline in rainfall over the past two days, the IMD has forecast thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds in Mumbai on Saturday and Sunday

After not receiving a significant amount of rain following two days of heavy rain earlier this week, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty winds for Saturday and Sunday.

Mumbai reported a significant drop in rainfall in the 48 hours between Wednesday and Friday, after heavy to very heavy rainfall lashed across the city between Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
