Krishna Hegde, spokesperson, Mumbai Regional Congress Committee, said "Rahul will be the star campaigner for our party. His appeal lies not only among the youth, but also cuts across all sections of society. We believe he is a youth icon and hence, will feature on the party posters." Future plans Party officials added that the Congress is looking at projecting Rahul as the prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. They clarified that the move to have him on the posters is not belittling Manmohan Singh in any way. Rahul has himself said that Singh is his prime ministerial choice. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) directed the regional Congress committees to put up hoardings in every constituency of the country. A hoarding featuring Rahul Gandhi has already been put outside the MRCC office near Azad maidan.
