The impact of the escalating West Asia conflict and disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz is now being felt across Mumbai, with rising fuel prices triggering demands for fare hikes, increasing transport costs, and pushing up vegetable prices.
Following fuel price hikes by oil marketing companies and an increase in CNG prices in Mumbai on Thursday, transport unions, truckers and residents said the ripple effects were already visible on the ground.
