Sanjay Gandhi National Park authorities say park can manage renovation on its own

Tourists and lovers of nature will have to wait for a while to stay at the much awaited, renovated guests houses at Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP). The project, which was previously a collaboration between the SGNP management and the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), is now the sole responsibility of the former.
“After the new director got appointed, the SGNP decided to proceed with the project alone, without the MTDC. Help was offered to the officials and the tourism corporation even offered to provide expert engineers for the development. But the offer wasn’t accepted by them,” said a senior official on condition of anonymity.
