Undertrial prisoner dies after sudden chest pain inside Thane jail

A 50-year-old undertrial prisoner lodged at Aadharwadi Central Jail in Kalyan, Thane district, died after complaining of sudden chest pain and giddiness. He collapsed inside his cell and was declared dead at hospital. Police have registered an Accidental Death Report and begun investigation

A 50-year-old undertrial prisoner lodged at a jail in Maharashtra's Thane district has died after complaining of sudden chest pain and giddiness, police said on Sunday.
As reported by PTI, the deceased has been identified as Ajay Anandji Kalhan, alias Helam Ravindra Kapadia (50). Without specifying the charges against him, an official from the Khadakpada police station said that Ajay was lodged at the Aadharwadi Central Jail in Kalyan.
