Thane: Moving car catches fire; 11 escape unharmed

Local firefighters and Thane municipal rescuers responded quickly and extinguished the fire within half an hour; however, the car was totally destroyed

An official said that eleven people, including five children, escaped unscathed after the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) they were riding in caught fire in Thane, Maharashtra.
The MPV was going from Mumbai to Nashik when the driver discovered a fire at 11:45 p.m. on Thursday. He promptly braked and stopped the car, allowing all occupants, including five children and four women, to evacuate safely before it caught fire, reported PTI.
