Nine new cases of coronavirus have been detected in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/search/thane-articles" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Maharashtra's Thane district</a>, raising its infection tally to 7,47,438, a health official told news agency PTI on Sunday.
With the addition of the latest cases on Saturday, the district currently has 25 <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/search/Coronavirus-articles" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">active Covid-19 cases</a>, compared to 22 the previous day, he said.
The death toll in the district, which comes under the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, remained unchanged at 11,969.
The recovery count has reached 7,36,211, the official said.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra on Saturday reported 22 Covid-19 cases, taking the tally to 81,37,045, the state health department said.

The death toll remained unchanged at 1,48,420 as no fresh Covid-19 fatality was reported in the state.
The recovery count rose to 79,88,505 after 17 patients were discharged during the day, leaving the state with 120 active cases, the department said.
Mumbai division logged 13 cases including four in the state capital, Pune division eight, and Akola division one.
The overall tally of cases in Mumbai now stands at 11,54,308 and the death toll at 19,747.
Since December 24, 2022, a total of 4,96,462 passengers who arrived at Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur airports have been screened. Out of them 27 were found infected after RT-PCR tests, the department said.
