The story of Shiny and David Mathew is one of hope, love and winning against the odds. Two years ago, the mother-son duo made news when they appeared for their school final examinations together.

Earlier this week, as the Higher Secondary (HSC) board exams kicked off, Shiny (40) and her son David (17) were in action again David appearing for his first paper while his mother was sitting outside the examination centre, engrossed in reading a textbook. Her own Class 12 board exams are scheduled in March.
