A major brawl was averted when eggs were thrown at a Ganpati procession in Jogeshwari, following which angry members of the mandal barged into the twin towers where some residents were allegedly prepared to put up a fight. However, police were called in and local activists intervened to diffuse the situation.
The incident occurred between 2-3 pm on Monday, when the procession was passing by the upscale twin towers near a shopping centre on S V Road in Jogeshwari (West). Amidst the drums and the dance, eggs were allegedly hurled from the high-rise prompting the angry devotees to barge into the building.
