A 34-year-old housewife killed herself in her Mira Road flat after she caught her husband of six years in a compromising position with his brother&rsquo;s wife on Friday afternoon.

The Kashimira police arrested the woman&rsquo;s husband and sister-in-law for driving the victim to taking the extreme step. The deceased has been identified as Shobha Sukla, a resident of Kashimira area in Mira road. Her husband, Ashish Sukla, works in a construction firm. They were married in 2008 and have two children.
Police officials said Shobha found her husband getting intimate with her sister-in-law Suhasini after which a fierce argument broke out between the two. Unable to come to terms with the situation, Shobha decided to take her life.
Senior police inspector Anil Kadam, said, &ldquo;Shobha was found hanging from a ceiling fan on Friday and we had initially registered a case of accidental death. Investigations, however, revealed that the deceased&rsquo;s husband was having an affair with her sister-in-law.&rdquo;
The cops then arrested the husband and sister-in- law for driving the woman to suicide. They have been charged under sections 498A (Husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty), 306 (Abetment of suicide) and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC.
