A 43-year old laundry shop owner was found dead in his XUV car at Juhu Tara Road opposite LIC building Santacruz in the wee hours of Monday. The cops have detained the victim's girlfriend, who is a prime suspect in the case.

The incident happened on Sunday night when the Santacruz police received a call informing that someone is lying unconscious inside an XUV car in Santacruz west. Following the incident, at 1:30 am, patrolling team from the police rushed to the spot and found the deceased.
The deceased has been identified as Tilakraj Rajput, 43 from the identity cards he was carrying.
An police officer said, "Rajput was lying in his XUV car and its door was open. The team tried to wake him up but there was no response. Rajput was then rushed to the hospital and the doctors declared him dead."

A police team then rushed to his residence on Juhu Tara Road.
While interrogating his wife, the team learnt that Rajput was having an affair with a woman named Anita who works with a private firm. Also, the cell phone records of the deceased revealed that he had spoken with Anita before he was killed. Following this input, the cops have now detained Anita for further interrogations.
Senior police inspector Shantanu Pawar confirmed the murder and said, "We have detained Rajput's girlfriend and have got concrete lead in the case. We suspect the involvement of more people in the crime."
