SUV collision with truck on killer E-way stretch also leaves 2 injured The deadly stretch of 'Kilometre 53' on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway was the scene of another accident when a Scorpio and truck collided killing three persons and injuring two others. The deceased were Suresh Sitaram Salunkhe (50), Suresh Bayaji More (52), Sanjeev Eknath Ranpise (52) and the two injured were Prashant Pitar Ovhal (48) and Arun Shinde (55), all residents of Wadgoan Sheri. "There is a toll plaza in this area, and drivers tend to pick up speed immediately after leaving the toll centre. So, drivers lose control and accidents occur frequently on this stretch," said Pawar. "In the last couple of months, eight persons have lost their life on this deadly stretch of Kilometer 53 of the expressway."
