He hired an auto rickshaw to take him to his hostel room. While he was on the way, a man stopped his auto rickshaw and sat down with Gatagat. A little later, the man subdued Gatagat with chloroform, leaving him in a semi-unconscious state. The accused then loaded him onto a car. Rescued About 8.30 pm, the accused threw him into Vashi creek. Gatagat&rsquo;s cries alerted nearby fishermen who came to his rescue, causing the accused to flee. The fishermen pulled Gatagat out and admitted him to a private hospital. The fishermen also informed the Vashi police. The accused had robbed Rs 60,000 from the victim, who was carrying the sum to pay for his admission for the next term.
