4 more held in Beed female foeticide case

The police arrested four accomplices of doctor couple Sudam and Saraswati Munde yesterday evening and will produce them in court today morning.
Those arrested include Datta Kakde, the owner of a car in which the Mundes left Parli on May 23 and their relative Gangadhar Gutte, who helped them to travel from one place to another while they were on the run. Noor Jahan Sayyad and Sugribi Shaikh Rehman, who worked as nurses in the couple’s hospital and are believed to be responsible for disposing the foetuses after abortions, were also arrested.u00a0
Divisional police officer Swati Bhor of Ambejogai taluka said, “Dr Munde has been practising since 1978 and it is believed that he conducted over 5,000 sex determination and selection tests which resulted in illegal abortions.”
