One can only commend University of Pune’s vision in this instance — when a youth pursuing MA (English) from the varsity lost his spectacles during fieldwork, the administration compensated him with Rs 500 from its emergency fund. Many students are not aware of UoP’s emergency financial help scheme, under which a student of any affiliated college can request for financial aid up to Rs 10,000.
