File pic This revelation has come has another blow for the ruling BJP in the wake of the High Court recently ruling that the CM has no discretionary powers to allot urban sites. While disposing of a petition questioning the allotment of Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) sites under G-category with the CM's discretion, the court has issued notice to the beneficiaries regarding cancellation of the allotment. Yeddyurappa's sister Gowramma has been allotted a 40X60 site and her son S C Rajesh has got a 50X80 site, while the CM's personal secretary Gurumurthy has been gifted a 40X60 plot. B R Sarvamangala, Nagamma, Gopalkrishna, Chandrakala, B M Jagadamba and B M Nandibasappa are Yeddyurappa's other relatives getting sites. While the market value of the sites is not less than Rs 20 lakh, the beneficiaries have paid amounts ranging between Rs 85,000 and Rs 4.5 lakh, as the sites are being given at subsidised rates. Furthermore, the rules state that persons owning property in the state territory are not eligible for the allotment, but many relatives of the CM benefited with sites, already own properties. "It is blatant violation of rules and the chief minister has thrown the system out of his window to favour his relatives. While we have got the court judgment regarding the BDA sites allotment, the MUDA case is a new revelation," said S Vasudev, a city-based lawyer, based on whose petition (PIL) the HC pronounced the landmark judgment. When this reporter asked for a response, Yeddyurappa said that his political advisor B J Puttaswamy would react in a press conference called for today. "We don't know the details of the case. Let us study the records before reacting in the press conference," said Puttaswamy. Right time Declining to react to the recent revelation, former CM H D Kumaraswamy, who is embarrassing the BJP by exposing one scam after another, said, "Let me not talk about this because its seems no end to Yeddyurappa's corruption. I am observing it and will react at the appropriate time." He said he was going ahead with the idea of staging a fast unto death in case the state government fails to order a CBI probe on corruption allegations Yeddyurappa made against him. Last week, Yeddyurappa had got BJP President K S Eswarappa and party spokesperson Niramala Sitaraman to release a charge sheet enlisting irregularities done by Kumaraswamy and his family members. The former CM had dared Yeddyurappa to go for a CBI probe to prove the charges, while threatening to go on a huger strike in case he does not.
