The incident came close on the heels of an alleged gang rape of a minor girl in a train by two para-military personnel.
The accused has been identified as Lance Naik Diler Singh, who is posted in Agartala. He was arrested by the Government Railway Police (GRP) of Mughalsarai late last night after the incident came to light. An FIR was lodged against Singh under IPC Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty).
Earlier on December 28, an army jawan forced a minor girl to consume alcohol while she was allegedly gang raped by two paramilitary force personnel inside a compartment, reserved for security personnel, of the Howrah-Amritsar Express. She was later rescued by the RPF in Madhupur station in Jharkhand. The three accused were subsequently arrested and identified by the victim.
