Husband alleges women workers of BJP tried to barge in; files FIR

Arundhati Roy has been courting controversy ever since she reportedly made inflammatory remarks over Kashmir but on Sunday it was her husband who had to bear the brunt of her eloquence.

A group of women protesters belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party allegedly tried to barge in to Roy's Chanakyapuri house yesterday. They were demonstrating against her statement at a seminar on October 15. In a complaint to the police, Roy's husband Pradeep has alleged that the slogan shouting protesters tried to forcibly enter into their house.

"A group of 50 women had gathered near Arundhati Roy's house. They shouted slogans against her and tried to barge in but were stopped by security personnel. Police were informed and her house was cordoned-off," said a senior police official.

He said the police would study the CCTV footage of the area and identify the protesters who tried to trespass.
"We have filed an FIR under section 188 of IPC (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant).
