State-run BHEL on Monday said it has bagged a Rs 1,000-crore contract for supplying equipment to a hydro power project in Bhutan.

BHEL has secured a Rs 1,016-crore contract from Punatsangchhu Hydroelectric Project Authority, Bhutan for the electro-mechanical equipment package for a 1,200 MW (6x200 MW) hydroelectric project, a company statement said today.
