With the high-voltage assembly election in Bihar just a few days away, a delegation of foreign diplomats from embassies of Japan, Indonesia, Denmark, Australia, the UK, Bhutan, and South Africa began their two-day visit to the state on Sunday, news agency PTI reported. The foreign delegation is in Bihar to observe the BJP's election campaign and India's democratic process.

Vijay Chauthaiwale, BJP's foreign affairs department in-charge, while highlighting the foreign delegation's visit to India, said, "The visit under the 'Know BJP' initiative, launched by party president J. P. Nadda, is to familiarise the diplomats with the functioning, outreach and organisational strength of the BJP, as well as to provide an on-ground understanding of India's electoral engagement at the grassroots level."

"The delegation will interact with senior party leaders, observe campaign activities and visit key constituencies," he added.

Earlier, similar delegations had visited Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, and Rajasthan during the assembly elections in those states to experience the BJP's election management and campaign practices.

The BJP-led NDA bloc is in a bid to retain power in the state. In its manifesto released on October 29, NDA has promised jobs to one crore youth, creating one crore 'Lakhpathi Didis', metro train services in four more cities, and seven international airports in the state, among other things.

The manifesto also promises seven motorways, 10 industrial parks, free quality education from KG to PG and Rs 2000 aid per month for SC students pursuing higher education.

Campaigning picks up across state as date for polling approaches

With the first phase of voting for the Bihar Assembly Elections set to take place on November 6, the political battlefield is heating up with fiery speeches and promises.

The state is witnessing a high-voltage campaign as leaders from across the spectrum—from Nitish Kumar, Amit Shah, and JP Nadda to Priyanka Gandhi—descend upon Bihar to rally support for their parties.

The NDA and BJP are doubling down on their governance record and development claims, while the RJD, JD(U), and Congress sharpen their attacks over unemployment, inflation, and law and order.

On Saturday, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attacked the NDA dispensation over unemployment and migration issues at a rally at Begusarai.

She said, “They first divided people and went to war but couldn’t divert attention from real issues, so they are now stealing votes.”
