Two explosions went off outside Gate No 12 of the stadium, minutes before the Royal Challengers vs Mumbai Indians IPL match.
Two low-intensity explosions, one at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and another half-a-kilometre away, before the start of an Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians Saturday injured five people and caused panic among the spectators.
Explosives placed near the outer wall of the stadium went off at around 3.15 p.m., 45 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the match, which was delayed by an hour. Four policemen and a private security guard were injured, Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari told reporters at the stadium.
