BMC yet to wake up to drowning cases at Aksa

74 deaths in 14 years and the famed beach is yet to get safety equipment; last Sunday, three young men drowned and a fourth friend of theirs was rescued by locals nearby as 'there wasn't a single lifeguard present'
Aksa beach, which has seen many deaths by drowning recently, is one of the more dangerous beaches in Mumbai, fire officials have declared. Yet, it has not been equipped with essential lifesaving amenities by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
