Despite repeated promises from the officials of Inspector General of Registration office, registration work of documents in the city seems to be going on at a snail's pace.
According to the city lawyers, limited number of servers and connectivity issues related to the software -- iSarita -- used for registering documents has taken its toll on the entire process. A few of them even claimed that on average only 30 documents are being filed a day at the registration offices in the city, against the actual number of 70.u00a0
The lawyers said though they have already submitted a proposal to the higher officials at the registrar’s office, demanding an increase the number of servers and for manual registration work, nothing has been done till date. u00a0The lawyers in the district had protested against the inconvenience caused by the revenue department’s using the same software that was launched across the state on July 11, 2012. They complained that poor service from the current service provider that was chosen by the department as its BOT partner to give connectivity led to frequent shutdowns, thus forcing them to get the documents registered manually. Presently, the city has 21 registration offices that use iSarita.u00a0
