Anu00a0SSC girl student who approached the Saswad police station to return a cell phone her mother had found was allegedly raped several times by a constable. The constable, who is attached to the Saswad police station, allegedly got the girl involved in a love affair and promised her marriage before repeatedly raping her. The girl's mother was allegedly made to run from pillar to post before the Saswad police finally got acting and registered a rape case against the constable, who is married. Forced abortion The constable is accused of sexually assaulting the woman's daughter several times and forcing her to undergo an abortion after she became pregnant. The girl's mother is a Grade IV employee in a government office. To get the police to lodge a complaint against Constable Bheema Londhe, she even wrote an anonymous letter to the SP (Pune Rural) in January. According to the woman, her daughter met the constable when she was summoned in a mobile theft case. Rs 1L to keep mum When the victim's mother tried to register a police complaint, the constable concerned and his seniors allegedly attempted to bribe her and even told her to abort her daughter's unborn baby. The police allegedly offered the woman Rs 1 lakh, after which she wrote a letter to Superintendent Shahaji Solunke.u00a0Addl SP (Baramati) Meghshyam Malegaonkar said: "The victim's mother had earlier given a complaint by post." Probation officer of DYSP rank Sharmishtha Walawalkar said: "The case is to be registered under several sections of the IPC for raping a minor, trying to destroy evidence and threatening her to keep mum. This was going on for ten months." She indicated that the doctor who did the abortion was likely to face action for performing the procedure without the consent of the minor's parents. Walawalkar said: "Whether the senior officers attached to the police station concerned tried to influence the victim's mother will surface as the investigation proceeds. Action against the suspect is our first priority."
