<p>One person was killed and around 30 passengers were injured after a Volvo passenger coach travelling from Ahmedabad to Delhi collided with a truck on the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/six-burnt-alive-2-die-of-injuries-in-bus-trailer-collision-on-delhi-mumbai-expressway-in-rajasthan-23637698" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Delhi-Mumbai Expressway</a> in Rajasthan's Dausa district on Thursday, police said.</p>
<p>The driver of the bus died at the scene, while injured passengers were taken to Dausa District Hospital for treatment.</p>
<p>The accident occurred near Gudliya on a stretch of the expressway in Dausa. Police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the collision.</p>
<h2>Bus travelling from Ahmedabad to Delhi hits truck</h2>
<p>According to Dausa Superintendent of Police Piyush Dixit, the accident took place at around 6 am.</p>
<p>"A truck was moving along the route around 6:00 AM. A sleeper bus travelling from Ahmedabad to Delhi collided with it from behind. Tragically, the driver died on the spot," police said.</p>
<p>The bus was travelling from Ahmedabad to Delhi via Jaipur when it <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/two-killed-35-injured-after-sleeper-bus-crashes-into-truck-in-uttar-pradesh-23632824" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">collided with the truck</a>, according to information provided by passengers.</p>
<p>However, there appeared to be differing accounts about the position of the truck at the time of the collision, with some initial reports suggesting that it was parked along the highway stretch. Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.</p>
<h2>Around 30 passengers admitted to hospital</h2>
<p>Piyush Dixit said around 30 injured passengers had been taken to hospital following the collision.</p>
<p>"About 30 injured passengers have been brought here to the hospital, and they are currently undergoing treatment," he said.</p>
<p>Ambulances were sent to the accident site after authorities received information about the crash. The injured were transported to Dausa District Hospital, where medical teams were deployed to provide treatment.</p>
<p>Officials have not yet provided a detailed breakdown of the injuries, though some passengers were reported to have suffered serious injuries.</p>
<h2>Passengers asleep when crash occurred</h2>
<p>An injured passenger said the bus was travelling overnight and that most passengers were asleep when <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/telangana-bus-crash-leaves-six-dead-12-injured-on-hyderabad-vijayawada-highway-23646849" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">the collision occurred</a>.</p>
<p>According to the passenger, commuters were jolted awake by a loud impact as the bus struck the truck.</p>
<p>The front portion of the Volvo coach was extensively damaged in the collision.</p>
<p>The force of the impact caused several passengers to lose their balance and fall onto one another inside the bus, according to eyewitness accounts.</p>
<p>Some passengers suffered injuries during the collision and were provided medical assistance after being taken to the hospital.</p>
<h2>Police investigate cause of accident</h2>
<p>Police said the exact cause of the accident had not yet been established.</p>
<p>Investigators will examine the sequence of events leading to the collision, including the movement and position of the truck and the circumstances in which the bus struck it.</p>
<p>The circumstances under which the truck was on the expressway will also form part of the investigation.</p>
<p>Further details are expected after police complete their preliminary inquiry and collect evidence from the accident site.</p>

<p>The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway stretch passing through Dausa district has witnessed accidents in the past.</p>
<p>In July, a collision between a bus and a trailer on the same expressway, within the jurisdiction of Kolwa police station, resulted in multiple fatalities and left several passengers injured.</p>
