Delhi hospital extends help to girl with giant head syndrome

A girl child from Tripura who is suffering from a rare condition that has caused her head to swell to double its size will receive free treatment at a private hospital here.

18-month-old Roona Begum, who is living with her parents in a remote village in the northeastern state, is suffering from Hyderocephalus - a condition in which the head swells due to accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in brain.u00a0

Her poor parents are unable to get her treated for the disease as it entailed high-end surgical intervention apart from high treatment cost.
