On August 11, Satara police jurisidcition Wai based self personated doctor Santosh Pol and his accomplies trainee nurse Jyoti Mandhare (25) was arrested by Wai police station for allegedly involved in the kidnapping and murder case of Wai based Pre-primary school worker Mangala Jedhe murder case and after which a shocking revaltion come ahead of five other missing people death. On Friday, Pol and Mandhare will be reproduced before the court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) for their remand hearing.
Inspector general of Police (Kolhapur Range) Vishwas Nagare Patil said, "Our team are investigating the case and soon we shall get the sixth body details. Pol claims that he has used injection and especially usage of Swalling drug to kill some of the people and prima-facie he has misused the ambulance which he initially was given to him by the hospital authorties for plying emergency patient. In the same ambulance he has murdered two people including Salma Shaikh and Nathumal Bhandari. Which are team is probing.&rdquo; He said, &ldquo;To make the case strong we have called Mumbai forensic team to probe the case like the team which has work in Sheena Bora murder case so that we get some strong evidences.&rdquo;
When asked about the in some of the case Pol acted as testimony in few of the case IG Nagare patil said, &ldquo;Yes, we have come across some three to four cases in which the then police officers who were heading the missing clues had recorded Pol&rsquo;s testimony in it and we are planning soon to conduct internal inquiry against said officers and the reason. As the police officer claims that he use to filed false cases or charge them charges of Anti Corruption is mere undigested fact so we probing into it.&rdquo;
A senior officer spoke to Mid-Day on condition of anonymity said, &ldquo;Some police officers name have come up from whom in pst Pol had played a settler roles in land dealing cases. The poultry farm that is owned by Pol was mortgaged at huge amount and suddently in 2015 he is able to settled the entire loan. So we are probing the case. Pol like gold and land. This made him crazy as he had seen his mother hard days and wanted to be rich and be a good parent to his kids to gain good eduction The ambulance theif case has been registered by doctor and we suspect the ambulance he has hidden at Dadar in Mumbai. Its the same Ambulance which he has used by calling the deceased people by giving them some money and injection was used so that no one scream and within few seconds the people would die. In the same ambulance he would keep gunny bag in which he used to tie them up and till late night travel on his scooter or bike to his farm and burry them.&rdquo;
He added, &ldquo;No one must be aware about his movement so he had kept Poultry farm so that cock noise will not make aware about this movement and same poultry farm electricity would help him to reach such farm.&rdquo; Role of Jyoti in this murder case police officer said, &ldquo;Pol used accomplies in each of his murder case. For last two year Jyoti was well known to him and both had relationship and she use to get money from him. After killing Jedhe he used Jyoti to operate her cell phone so that it seem that she is roaming in other district.&rdquo;
Deceased Jedhe son Pramod a law student based in Mumbai said, &ldquo;On June 14, my mother was to travel to Pune for my sister&rsquo;s delivery. Around 9.20 pm I received her call that within two hours she will in Yerawada in PUne. Later her phone was switch off. Later we came to Wai and we registered the missing complaint. We knew our mother never run away but her cell phone use to be activated for few hours and when we recovered the location it was Kolhapur, Pune, Katraj, Wai and again in Mumbai. We just got miss call but no anser neither sms. We smell a rat and approached police it seems to be kidnapping.&rdquo; He added, &ldquo;We have hired our private lawyer in this case we have faith in police and judiciary but still I do not want any chance that he and Jyoti to move out.&rdquo;
In the meantime, the 41-year-old self personated Doctor Santosh Pol who was well known as doctor cum RTI activist cum social worker was a &ldquo;settler&rdquo; in darker world of city. Blackmailing, extorting money, settling in land grab cases, stealing gold and promising people for giving double the gold amount was his business. Pol work as a compounder and later brothers in hospital stealed lot of injection especially swalling injection and misused ambulance
&ldquo;Finally I am relief, for last 13 years I was carrying huge burden of six murdered tag and after my arrest I am relief as no more burden.&rdquo; Said self personated doctor Santosh Pol who has been allegedly involved in six murder of missing people in Wai from 2003 till 2016 in his statement.
Pol has written a letter in Marathi addressing Sanjay Patil Satara superintendent of Police. Mid-Day has a copy of it. In this letter Pol mentions, &ldquo;Sir, first let give u a grant salute. Sir... Sir you have questioned me why I have done all this heinous act for which I would like to answer you... Sir, since 2003 till 2016 in this span I have seen lot of corrupted officers in department and this is question which is being raised in this ruthless society. I am trying to find out the answer to this question since 2016 when July 8 this year when Local Crime Branch (LCB) Satara and Inspector Vetal sir have done.&rdquo;
SP Patil said, &ldquo;This letter he has written to us but still we are trying to work out on some clues these letters are mere killing his time so that we are diverted in some way or get melt.&rdquo;
