Explosives laden car was meant for Delhi

The explosives found in a car in the parking lot of the Ambala Cantonment railway station were procured by the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and given to Babbar Khalsa International to carry out a terror attack in the national capital, Delhi Police said Thursday.

The explosives found in a car in the parking lot of the Ambala Cantonment railway station were procured by the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and given to Babbar Khalsa International to carry out a terror attack in the national capital, Delhi Police said Thursday.

"Central intelligence agencies had informed us that a module of the Lashkar-e-Taiba was active in Jammu and Kashmir ufffd The explosives had been brought by LeT and were meant to be used by terror outfit Babbar Khalsa International in Delhi," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Arun Kampani told reporters in New Delhi.

According to Kampani, the Delhi Police team received specific information Wednesday and recovered the explosives from the Tata Indica car bearing registration number -- HR03 R 0054.
