In a significant political development ahead of the upcoming civic elections, two former legislators from North Maharashtra — Kunal Patil and Apurva Hire — are set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday.
According to party sources, both the leaders will formally join the BJP in Mumbai in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
Kunal Patil, a former Congress MLA from Dhule known for his close ties with Rahul Gandhi, is expected to boost the BJP’s influence in the Dhule region with his entry.
Meanwhile, Apurva Hire, a former MLA from the Nashik teachers' constituency, also brings significant political weight to the table.
