The body of another person was recovered from a hydroelectric project site in Himachal Pradesh that was hit with flash floods, taking the toll in the incident to four, officials said on Thursday. Search operations were intensified on Thursday to find the seven still missing since flash floods were triggered by cloudbursts in Kangra and Kullu districts on Wednesday.

About 15-20 workers were feared swept away at a labour colony near the Indira Priyadarshini Hydroelectric project site following a surge in water level in Manuni Khad in Khaniyara village on Wednesday evening. NDRF commandant Singh said that joint search teams of NDRF, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), police and home guards are on the job, though tough topography and bad weather are acting as a disturbance.
Jammu
Three persons, including two children, died while four others were rescued as flash floods triggered by cloudbursts and heavy rains were reported from different areas of Rajouri, Poonch, Doda and Kathua districts in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, officials said.
The children were grazing their cattle when they were swept away by the flash floods due to a cloudburst, the officials said, adding that the bodies were retrieved and handed over to the relatives of the children for the last rites. Officials said the SDRF also rescued a person from a stream in Poonch.

Flash floods due to cloudbursts were also reported from Qazi Mora in Poonch and different high-altitude areas of Doda, Udhampur and Ramban districts, but there was no report of any casualty. Advisories have been issued asking citizens to stay alert and follow precautionary measures amid likely flood situations this rainy season, the officials said.
Uttarakhand
At least three people were killed, eight injured and nine others reported missing on Thursday when a 31-seater bus carrying pilgrims from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra to Badrinath fell into the Alaknanda river, police said.

The vehicle met with the accident near the Gholtir village on the Badrinath National Highway between Rudraprayag and Gauchar, they said. The accident occurred at around 7.30 am. Relief and rescue efforts, hampered by the strong currents of the river, are underway on the spot with the help of local villagers.
Three bodies have been recovered so far, Rudraprayag District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar said. There were 20 people, including the driver, on board the vehicle when it fell into the river, police said.
