Row over Trump's ' hellhole' repost: India calls remarks uninformed and in poor taste

India strongly reacted to Donald Trump’s repost containing the term ‘hellhole’ in reference to immigration, with the Ministry of External Affairs calling the remarks uninformed, inappropriate and in poor taste, and saying they do not reflect the reality of India-US relations

India on Thursday said a social media post referring to Indians in derogatory terms over immigration was “uninformed, inappropriate and in poor taste."
“We have seen the comments, as also the subsequent statement issued by the US Embassy in response. The remarks are obviously uninformed, inappropriate, and in poor taste. They certainly do not reflect the reality of the India-US relationship, which has long been based on mutual respect and shared interests,” MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.
