The Manipur Police reported that the overall law and order situation in the state remained stable over the past 24 hours, reported ANI.

Security forces continued extensive search operations and area domination activities in vulnerable and fringe regions across multiple districts. These included intelligence-led combing efforts and cordon-and-search operations aimed at apprehending individuals involved in extortion and other criminal activities, according to the police release.

On August 4, security personnel arrested an active member of the banned group People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK). The individual, identified as Pangambam Kepten Singh alias Sachikanta (51), was taken into custody from his residence at Thoubal Haokha Maning Leikai in Thoubal district. Authorities recovered a mobile phone with a SIM card and an Aadhaar card from his possession, reported ANI.

In a separate operation on August 4, Manipur Police arrested two individuals involved in vehicle theft near Lilong Dam, close to the Anjuman Office under Lilong Police Station in Thoubal district. The arrests were linked to an earlier FIR regarding the theft of a Royal Enfield Interceptor motorcycle from Lilong Kaleikhong. The accused were identified as Md. Mufasin (20) of Lilong Makha Leikai and Md. Aman (20) of Lilong Lou Tara, both residents of Thoubal district. The stolen motorcycle, a black Royal Enfield Interceptor, was recovered from them.

As reported by ANI, on August 3, police officials detained three vehicles for traffic violations such as operating without a valid Registration Certificate (RC) and missing number plates. Additionally, tinted window films were removed from 18 vehicles.

To maintain the smooth transport of essential commodities, a total of 417 vehicles were provided security escorts along National Highway-37. This included convoy arrangements in sensitive areas to ensure safe passage.

The release also mentioned that 111 checkpoints or nakas were set up across various hill and valley districts. No detentions were reported at these locations, reported ANI.

The Manipur Police urged citizens not to fall for rumours or misleading videos and advised the public to verify any suspicious content by contacting the Central Control Room at 9233522822. They also warned that sharing or uploading false content on social media platforms could result in legal action, reported ANI.

Additionally, the police appealed to the public to promptly return any looted arms, ammunition, or explosives to the nearest security personnel or police station.
