Local children reclaim MIDC ground after President leaves venue
Updated On: 29 December, 2013 05:15 AM IST | | Richa Pinto
After President Pranab Mukherjee and other political leaders left the MIDC ground in Airoli in their respective helicopters, local kids ran into the ground to resume playing. The ground was taken over by cops for the past few days due to security reasons. The braver ones out of the group of children still tried to venture into the ground but were asked to stay away
A few minutes after President Pranab Mukherjee’s and other dignitaries’ choppers took off from the MIDC ground in Airoli, children from the neighbouring locality, who were barred from entering the grounds for the last few days, ran into it with much enthusiasm. MiD DAY had earlier reported about how these kids were among those who were not very happy about the President’s arrival, as their playground was taken over by police officials for security reasons.
