In a major step to ensure free, fair, and transparent polling, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has installed an extensive CCTV-based webcasting system across all polling centres.
A total of 2,067 polling centres have been designated across the city. To monitor the voting process, PCMC has installed 4,528 CCTV cameras covering every polling location.
Each polling centre has been equipped with cameras inside the voting room, outside the polling centre, and at the building entrance. The live feed from all cameras will be monitored through a centralised war room set up at PCMC’s main administrative building in Pimpri.

The webcasting facility has been established under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner and Election Officer Shravan Hardikar, with Nodal Officer and Assistant City Engineer Anil Bhalsakhale overseeing the operations.
The war room will function throughout the polling day with a dedicated technical team comprising executive engineers Mahesh Kawale, Balu Lande, and Santosh Durge, along with two deputy engineers, eight junior engineers and supporting staff, ensuring round-the-clock surveillance and prompt response.
The initiative aims to maintain law and order, prevent untoward incidents, and ensure that the entire election process is conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner.
