The Maharashtra government has reconstituted its inspection and monitoring committee to strengthen enforcement of the PCPNDT Act and crack down on illegal sex determination and related violations, officials said.
As per the news agency, the move aims to improve oversight of diagnostic centres and ensure stricter action against those violating laws meant to prevent female foeticide.
