Beed and Dharashiv districts in Maharashtra have been battered by torrential rainfall since Monday night, submerging farmlands and causing extensive crop damage. Farmers have also reported significant livestock losses. In light of the situation, authorities have declared a holiday for schools in Beed and Dharashiv.

Solapur and Pune districts have also been experiencing heavy rainfall, prompting authorities to initiate rescue operations at multiple locations.

Dharashiv, in particular, has faced continuous downpours over the past two days. On the night of September 21, heavy rains triggered flood-like conditions in the Paranda and Bhoom talukas. Many residents were left stranded, prompting the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to rush to affected areas and relocate people to safer locations. While many families have been evacuated safely, some remain trapped in floodwaters.

Continuous heavy rainfall has led to a critical situation across several districts of Maharashtra.

Following requests from local administration, NDRF teams have been deployed in Beed, Dharashiv, and Solapur districts under the supervision of Unit Commandant Santosh Bahadur Singh. Personnel have been tirelessly through the night to carry out rescue and relief operations.

In Beed district's Sadas Chinchole area of Majalgaon tehsil, the NDRF team conducted overnight rescue operations to evacuate residents trapped by rising waters.

By morning, a newborn and a woman had been safely rescued. So far, 39 people have been evacuated from various affected areas of the district.

In Dharashiv, severe flooding trapped residents inside their homes in Kapilapuri village. Despite challenging conditions, NDRF teams worked overnight and successfully rescued 182 people.

Solapur district also remained critical. NDRF personnel worked non-stop overnight and have so far rescued 82 citizens, in addition to assisting in moving domestic animals to safer locations.

Ahilyanagar district has faced similar challenges, with NDRF teams beginning evening rescue operations and evacuating 17 people in Karjat tehsil.

The timely deployment and swift action of NDRF teams have been widely praised by local administrations and affected residents, credited with preventing major loss of life.

The safe evacuation of a newborn and mother in Beed has been hailed as a symbol of hope amid despair, bringing relief to villagers and officials alike.
