The location of the killers of Jayanti Nagraj Chajed (55) was traced to Nashik hours after the murder incident came to light. Police teams are already on their way to nab the suspects, as they believe the duo may board trains to Rajasthan.
The suspects have been identified as Mahendra Rajput (21) and Bharat Gehlot (21), working at Chajed's Nagraj Jewellers shop in Govind Halwai chowk. They hail from Rajasthan and were employed in the shop since a year and a half. Two previous employees who were working in their shop were also fired for hatching a conspiracy to rob the shop.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone II) Rajesh Kumar Mor said, "Chajed family had not verified the background of the suspects before employing them".
Robbery motive
"Mobile tower location of the duo has been traced to Nashik. We suspect that they have planned to flee to Rajasthan by railway. So we have sent a team to nab them at the earliest," a source from the police team said.u00a0 "Jayanti Chajed was brutally murdered allegedly by the two. She must have resisted the attackers but they overpowered her. Jayanti's throat was slit and she was also struck with hard objects on her head."
"The two suspects managed to gain entry into the flat as they were known to Jayanti, or they must have used a duplicate key to open the door locks. The suspects have fled away with jewellery and other valuables worth around Rs 50 lakh which points towards robbery as the only motive behind the murder. Nagraj's calls to Jayanti had gone unanswered after 12.30 pm. Bharat also tried to misled Nagraj, when he returned to the shop after the murder. He was reported missing later," the source said.
