Karachi: Former Pakistan President General (retired) Pervez Musharraf has claimed that he had invoked emergency on November 3, 2007 after holding consultations with former chief of army staff General (retired) Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and the senior civilian and military hierarchy.
According to the Dawn, in a statement recorder before the joint investigation team (JIT) of the Federal Investigation Agency, Musharraf termed Kayani as the 'principal offender in the case. He said that Kayani, who became the chief of the army staff on November 27, 2007, did not revoke the emergency and thus, was also a 'principal offender.'
