A Nigerian national, who was earlier arrested by the Delhi Police Crime Branch in connection with Cocaine trafficking, was held again form the Chanakyapuri area of New Delhi on Monday.
The accused, identified as Ezeigbo Madwaq, was held for reportedly thrashing the security personnel outside the Nigerian Embassy and creating chaos.
The incident took place around 8 in the morning. "Madwaq was creating chaos outside the Embassy. He tried to vandalize the office of the administrative officials. He also beat up security personnel when they tried to stop him. He created chaos for around an hour," said a police official.u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0
Life at risk?
He added that Madwaq was demanding protection from the embassy as he said his life was at risk and he might be killed by someone.u00a0The embassy officials have also registered an FIR in this regard.u00a0u00a0
"He was arrested in 2008 by the Narcotics wing of the Crime Branch. At that time, he was released on bail. The accused is now in the business of exporting garments from the Capital," said the police official.
