Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday expressed concern over the deteriorating health of activist Sonam Wangchuk and urged the Centre to make efforts to persuade him to end his indefinite hunger strike, saying politics should leave room for humanity and compassion.
Centre should initiate dialogue: Omar
Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Abdullah said Wangchuk has been on a hunger strike for nearly three weeks over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and the demand for the resignation or removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He said the Centre should initiate dialogue with the activist instead of remaining silent as his health continues to deteriorate.
