India successfully hit nine terror targets across Pakistan with pinpoint precision, missing none, during Operation Sindoor, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval stated on Friday, while speaking at the 62nd convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Madras.

He also expressed pride in India's technological capabilities and its ability to neutralise cross-border threats effectively, reported PTI. The operation was executed so precisely that India knew the exact locations of the targets, and it lasted only 23 minutes, past 1 am on May 7, he further noted.

"Afterwards, they claimed that Pakistan was responsible for the incident and so on. But can anyone show me even one image or photograph that indicates any damage to India?" Doval asked during his address.

Operation Sindoor was launched in retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people—mostly tourists—lost their lives. The targets were located in both Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.

In his address to the students, Doval stressed the importance of the link between technology and warfare, emphasising that India must develop indigenous technology to fulfil its security needs, reported PTI.

Referring to the earlier speaker, Padma Subrahmanyam—Padma Vibhushan awardee and renowned classical dancer—who had congratulated him for the success of Operation Sindoor, Doval said, "I am genuinely proud of it. A significant portion of it was driven by indigenous technology."

"We take pride in the fact that some of our best systems were deployed—whether it was BrahMos missiles, the integrated air control and command system, or battlefield surveillance. We identified nine terror targets, not along the border, but deep within Pakistan itself, and we missed none of them," the NSA added.

He also pointed out that no unintended sites were struck, and the operation was so precise that "we knew who was where. The entire operation lasted just 23 minutes."

In a subtle response to international media reports questioning the operation's effectiveness, Doval remarked, "They wrote what they wished. However, satellite imagery tells the real story—13 Pakistani airbases, before and after 10th May, confirm exactly what occurred."

Earlier, at the convocation, Subrahmanyam had hailed the success of Operation Sindoor as a manifestation of the courage outlined in the Bhagavad Gita.

"As a proud Indian, I have always paid my respects to our soldiers, who are our national guardian angels," she said, congratulating Doval for his leadership in the operation.

During his address, Doval also highlighted the importance of technological advancement, stressing that India could not afford to fall behind in the global tech race.

He praised IIT-Madras and the private sector for their role in developing 5G technology within just two-and-a-half years—an achievement that took the Chinese over 12 years and cost them 300 billion dollars, reported PTI.

"Even the smallest component, whether it pertains to data or security protection, must come from a trusted source. It must either be made in India or by a partner closely aligned with India," he added, underscoring the need to protect the nation's technological infrastructure from potential threats.
