During his Varanasi visit, PM Modi said Operation Sindoor avenged the Pahalgam terror attack with Lord Shiva’s blessings and national unity. He also launched and laid foundation stones for 2,000 crore development projects, including roads, overbridges, water purification efforts, and rural drinking water schemes in Uttar Pradesh.

After a heated debate in the Parliament Monsoon Session during the second week on Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam terror attacks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed the same in Varanasi. While addressing the people, he said that his promise to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack through Operation Sindoor was fulfilled with the blessings of Lord Shiva.
Prime Minister Modi, while highlighting the Pahalgam terror attacks, said that "My heart was filled with sorrow for the 26 people who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack, as cited by news agency PTI.
The Prime Minister also added that, "My promise to avenge 'Sindoor' of our daughters was fulfilled with blessings of Mahadev," he said, adding, "I dedicate the success of Operation Sindoor at the feet of Mahadev."
He further stressed that the "unity of 140 crore countrymen" became the "strength of Operation Sindoor," which made the country’s mission to avenge the terrorists successful.
PM Modi is at his Lok Sabha constituency to inaugurate and lay the foundation for development projects worth over Rs 2,000 crore and to distribute the 20th installment of the PM KISAN Samman Nidhi worth Rs 20,500 crore to over 9.70 million eligible farmers nationwide. PM Modi has won the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat three times.
Furthermore, to make sure that he continues to improve road connectivity in Varanasi, the Prime Minister, along with inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of several infrastructure projects, will also inaugurate the widening and strengthening of the Varanasi-Bhadohi road and Chhitauni-Shool Tankeshwar road, as well as the Railway Overbridge at Hardattpur, to ease congestion on the Mohan Sarai-Adalpura Road.
He laid the foundation stone for comprehensive road widening and strengthening across multiple rural and urban corridors, including Dalmandi, Lahartara-Kotwa, Gangapur, and Babatpur, among others, and railway overbridges at Level Crossing 22C and Khalispur Yard.
Also, in addition to preserving culturally significant water bodies, the Prime Minister will also be laying the foundation stone for water purification and maintenance works at various ‘kunds’ in Uttar Pradesh.
To ensure access to potable water in rural areas, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate 47 Rural Drinking Water Schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
