In a first-of-its kind campaign, the RTO will conduct a drive in the rural areas of the district wherein a learner&rsquo;s licence test will be taken and the licence will be issued on the spot.
The RTO will also rope&nbsp;in members of the Pune bikers&rsquo; group and conduct a seminar under the street sense programme.
In the first phase, the campaign will be held in Panshet village. Applicants who will have proper riding kits including a helmet and shoes, will get a chance to be a&nbsp;member of street sense campaign free of cost.
Deputy Regional Transport Officer Anil Valiv said, &ldquo;All those who will register with us under street sense programme will be given anti-snake venom and anti-rabies medicines free of cost. We will also offer them a course in disaster management, which will train and educate them to deal with eventualities like floods, fires, earthquakes etc.&rdquo;
Training Pune bikers&rsquo; group member Sangaram Devkar said, &ldquo;We will be training people about the basics of bike riding and maintaining their vehicles. We will also give them a first aid kit so they can double up as motorbike ambulances to provide first aid at&nbsp;the earliest.&rdquo;
