The Rajkumars' home is being demolished to make way for a spacious building for the growing family
The late Rajkumar's growing joint family will be moving into a bigger house in a couple of months. Till then, they will live in a rented house at Ganganagar.
Their present bungalow in Sadashivanagar, built on a 40X60 plot, housed at least 40 people. Butu00a0 Parvathamma Rajkumar, wife of the thespian, is now planning a more spacious, four-storeyed building for the growing family.u00a0
According to family sources, the old structure will be demolished and construction of the new building will start after Vijayadashami in October.
"Rajkumar believed in the concept of the joint family," said Parvathamma. "We were more than 50 when we were in Chennai and the same is continuing here. But we need more space now."
Meanwhile, the family is moving temporarily to a seven-room house in Ganganagar. The house is said to be owned by a relative ofu00a0 well-known road builder Ashok Kheni's and is being rented out to the Rajkumars at Rs 1.5 lakh per month.u00a0u00a0
