Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, while hailing India’s response to terrorism, asserted that the Indian military successfully achieved all the objectives of Operation Sindoor. Rajnath Singh further emphasised that India’s fight against cross-border terrorism will continue.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh further said that Pakistan made an unsuccessful attempt to penetrate India's defence system during Operation Sindoor, but the Indian Armed Forces "exposed" the Pakistani air defence apparatus and sent a message to the world that it can inflict heavy losses on the adversary.
As reported by news agency PTI, the defence minister was addressing a group of soldiers at a military base in Gujarat's Bhuj ahead of performing a 'shastra puja' (worship of weapons) on the occasion of Dussehra.
While addressing the defence personnel, Rajnath Singh also said that, "During Operation Sindoor, Pakistan made an unsuccessful attempt to penetrate India's defence system from Leh to Sir Creek," as cited by news agency PTI.
"However, in its retaliatory action, Indian forces completely exposed the Pakistani air defence system and sent a message to the world that Indian forces can inflict heavy losses on Pakistan whenever and wherever they wish," added Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
Rajnath Singh further highlighted that India during Operation Sindoor displayed restraint because its military action was against terrorism and not against the common citizens.
Asserting that India had no intention of starting a war, Rajnath Singh said that "escalating it and starting a war was not the objective of Operation Sindoor. I am happy that Indian forces have successfully achieved all the military objectives of Operation Sindoor. But our fight against terrorism continues," as cited by news agency ANI.
Earlier last week, Rajnath Singh, while addressing a gathering on the occasion of the decommissioning ceremony of the Russian-origin MiG-21 at the Chandigarh Air Force Station, also highlighted the valour of the armed forces.
Defence Minister Singh, while hailing the MiG 21 as a big contribution in their journey of bravery, asserted that, "We gathered here for the final operational sortie of MiG 21. Being amongst you, I have emotions of pride and gratitude," cited by new agency PTI.
