Ananta Barua, executive director of SEBI and the chief guest of the evening, graced the concluding programme, which was held in New Delhi. “Be responsible, be professional,” said Barua, while talking about the role of Company Secretaries in issuing certificates to regulators like SEBI, BSE, NSE etc.

He mentioned CSs are gatekeepers of the Capital Market. He spoke at length about the role of Merchant Bankers and other intermediates and said Investor Awareness is a critical component of Investor Protection measures of SEBI.
