State records highest-ever SSC results

Passing percentage increased by five points from last year; Konkan tops the state’s nine divisions with 95.57%, while Pune division is third at 92.35%

With 88.32% passing percentage in the state (regular students), up by 5% from last year, Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) declared the highest ever SSC (Std X) result on Tuesday.

Among the nine divisions in the state, three divisional boards, including Pune, marked a passing percentage of above 90, and not a single division saw the share of passing students dip below 80%.
Konkan division tops the state with a passing percent of 95.57, while Latur board brings up the rear with 81.68%. With 88.84% Mumbai is at the fifth position.
Out of a total 15,49,784 regular students who appeared for the SSC examination in March 2014, a total of 13,68,796 students passed. Girls, once again, outshone boys with a 90.55% result against 86.47% for boys.
