Girl was returning home after extra classes at college when incident occurred
Parents of a student studying at a junior college in the city got a rude shock yesterday afternoon after railway police informed them that their daughter had met with an accident at Shivajinagar railway station.u00a0The girl was rushed to Sassoon General Hospital where she is undergoing treatment for serious head injuries. This is the third accident in the vicinity of Shivajinagar railway station. Two people died in train-related accidents on Friday and Saturday .
In the latest incident, Lonavala resident Rekha Prajapati, a student of Bharat English School and Junior College, was studying in Std XI of science stream. She was found by officials of the railway police station after she allegedly fell on platform number two at 11.30 am while boarding a train. After a CT scan, head injuries were detected, and she was immediately shifted to the operation theatre.u00a0According to police, Rekha travels from Lonvala to Shivajinagar on a daily basis. She attended extra classes in the college and was returning home when the incident occurred.u00a0
