Tipsy drivers can't give cops the slip this New Year's Eve

Traffic police book 1,391 drunk drivers in past seven days alone; checkpoints to be increased threefold across city on Dec 31 and police will be armed with cameras to film fleeing drivers

In a bid to ensure that motorists and pedestrians are safe this year as the festive spirit takes hold, the Mumbai Traffic Police began a campaign against drink driving from December 20, and booked around 1,391 persons in the last seven days alone.
